Hey everybody, it’s been a while since I’ve posted - many of you I suspect know me from the Clubhouse heyday. An update: I’ve finished my new book on Bitcoin + China, which discusses many of the themes of digital surveillance, freedomtech and how to combat the rise of digital authoritarianism I discussed on Clubhouse as well as in this Substack. Super excited to receive any questions or comments here :)
It seems to me in any totalitarian society, as the famous quote suggests, control over the monetary system would be paramount. Therefore, bitcoin would be forbidden last I heard it was discouraged if not forbidden although I believe there are still many mining facilities there, perhaps state run or run in secret by individuals or oligarchs. I am more interested in what Americans do with bitcoin. I do believe there will be some influence and other important dynamics between China and the USA. I only hope the US warmongering will subside.
